En los últimos años, en el ámbito de la psicología clínica se está produciendo un notable aumento de la conciencia pública respecto a los derechos de los usuarios, exigiéndose cada vez más una práctica profesional de calidad en la que confluya un comportamiento ético y una actuación eficiente. Sin embargo, no se ha producido un desarrollo paralelo de normas y directrices que orienten a los psicólogos en su práctica profesional y tampoco en los actuales planes de estudio de la licenciatura de Psicología se han abordado estos temas con la suficiente profundidad. El principal objetivo de esta guía es cubrir un importante vacío en la formación de los psicólogos clínicos analizando temas tan relevantes como los relacionados con la confidencialidad, el consentimiento informado, las transgresiones de los límites profesionales, etc., así como los principales conflictos éticos y legales que pueden surgir en los distintos ámbitos de actuación clínica: la evaluación psicológica, la terapia, la investigación, y en otros más específicos como el forense o la intervención mediante Internet. Esta obra, indispensable para los psicólogos clínicos, es la única que adapta sus contenidos a las normativas éticas y legales vigentes actualmente en el Estado español, aunque asumiendo los estándares éticos europeos promovidos por la Federación de Asociaciones de Psicólogos Europeos (EFPA). Todo ello en un momento crucial de cambios en la enseñanza de la psicología en el que se está promoviendo la movilidad de los psi-cólogos y posibilitándose la práctica profesional en cualquier país europeo.

A las puertas de cumplirse dos décadas de la aparición en la escena procesal española del procedimiento monitorio, se confecciona este estudio que tiene como finalidad dar a conocer la configuración legal de este proceso civil especial para la tutela del derecho de crédito y su aplicación práctica en la actualidad. El manual está estructurado en cuatro grandes partes: en la primera se estudian los temas universales del envejecimiento y las grandes tesis explicativas del mismo. En la segunda parte se analiza la estabilidad y el cambio en los aspectos psicológicos, tanto los cognitivos como los afectivos y de la personalidad, incluido el contexto social de la muerte. La parte tercera se centra en la intervención en trastornos asociados a la vejez, tanto los cognitivos o demencias como los afectivos o depresiones y ansiedad. Por último, dado que el interés principal de esta obra, más que en por qué envejecemos, se centra en cómo se debe envejecer, en la parte cuarta se plantea un envejecimiento activo con nuevas alternativas, explicando cómo incide la distribución del tiempo en los estilos de vida y éstos a su vez en los modos de envejecer, y cómo conciliar vejez y futuro.
